Our summer camp program is for students from grade K-8. It will engage student’s minds and imaginations to explore how buildings and cities are designed and built. Students develop skills of observation, reasoning, and critical thinking. Tools that will develop within them as well as an appreciation and respect for the built environment. Students will have a full day of academics, architecture, art, design, engineering, science, and physical activity.

My Architecture Workshop summer camp is a licensed not-for-profit summer day camp. Our program will be hosted at the Strawberry Hill School Barn in Stamford, CT. The six-week program is designed around S.T.E.A.M. to engage student’s minds and imaginations to explore how buildings and cities are designed and built. Through hands on experience students explore architecture through the lens of Natural Sciences, Geography, Mathematics and Art while working toward a collaborative architecture project.

Breakfast, lunch, & afternoon snacks are provided.

Every student receives a T-shirt and architecture kid kit for the full six week program. Very limited space is available.

My Architecture Workshops Summer Camp Counselor-In-Training (C.I.T.) is a program for students who enjoy design and creativity, foster positive attitudes, and want to help the community and other students while learning leadership skills. C.I.T.s are expected at camp between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm daily for the week they are registered for. C.I.T. Participants will get to partake in all camp activities with their group, have the opportunity to lead a craft/activity stations, and participate in weekly leadership training and meeting with the Camp Assistant Director (or another supervisor role in the event the Camp Assistant Director is not available).
Once accepted to the program, CITs must complete online and in-person training. Space is limited, so apply early. Successful candidates will be sent an acceptance letter into the program. Upon receipt of the acceptance letter, candidates will be required to pay a registration fee (see below to review pricing)
PRICING:
Candidates are required to purchase a My Architecture Workshops Membership of $75 per year. Candidates are also required to pay a registration fee of $100 per week. Payment needs to be completed by May 15, 2024. NOTE: This is a development opportunity and candidates will not be financially compensated if accepted as a C.I.T.
C.I.T. hours will count toward Student Service Learning (SSL) hours in schools that have a graduation requirement.

This is the My Architecture Workshops Summer Camp C.I.T. Process for 2024:

Review the C.I.T. information with a parent/guardian to determine your availability for the summer.

Get a reference letter from a teacher, guidance counselor, or coach.

Fill out the application form.

Submit your application packet (application and reference letter) by April 20, 2024 online.

Upon submitting your application packet, you will receive an e-mail for a virtual interview.

After the interview process, successful candidates will receive an offer letter via e-mail.

Successful candidates will then need to submit their Connecticut Health Assessment forms, complete a registration form online (a link will be provided), and confirm the training dates/ meetings listed in the offer letter e-mail.
